Request for Information About a Banned User
Mar 17 2012, 10:52 PM EDT | Post edited: Mar 17 2012, 10:55 PM EDT
To any moderator with pertinent information:

I checked my Inbox tonight and found a message from about a day ago. The member who sent it was marked as banned, which means that he or she must have been banned within the past 24 hours. The member was claudiababy55.

Anyway, I'd like to find out whether this was a mass PM, or if I was one of a relatively small group targeted.

Also, does it seem that this was regular, bothersome troll activity or was it something more malicious (attempt to pass infect with a virus, etc.)? Thank you for any information.

Run a Google search of the e-mail address that the member posted in the PM. That should clear things up. That bot has hit hundreds of different forums like ours. Hard to say whether its an ID theft thing or virus, who knows, but I do know that anyone who (in this day and age) falls for that stuff is incredibly gullible.

I'm locking this thread, there's no use for it beyond this point. If in the future, anyone has a question regarding a ban like this or other staff protocol, please send me or another active moderator a PM. It's probably a faster way of reaching us anyway.
