No unit with no commander that are airborne. Ya and they would really let anyone send letters home from a non existent unit about stuff that officially didn't happen.
Every letter had a sensor check it. WWII checked every ones mail for classified information.
Oh they wouldn't be listed as KIA without dog tags, or a certified witness to the death. And even then most were labeled as MIA.
