What if...
Apr 4 2012, 4:58 PM EDT
I posted a thread saying: "An Outbreak has just happened, I can see a zombie through my window!"Would you believe? (Please no faking here) Who you'd believe for sure? Who you wouldn't believe for sure? What would you do? I would probably believe if it was someone I knew. I would believe X-Wolfhunter for sure, since we know each other for some time, and I somehow trust him I woudn't believe anonymous posts or users like 034rnfjhdf8n3h or 93nrefjzx83w or wogt001 that created the account yesterday or something. I'd make sure everything in my BOB was ready to take, then go to sleep. (it's almost 22:00 in portugal and I'm 14 years old, so...) Oh, and I'd check the net for outbreak news. how 'bout you? 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

I would hope they could provide some sort of evidence for it instead of just posting, but I agree, it would probably depend on who it was posting.

I'd scroll through msnbc and yahoo news to see if there was anything even vaguely related. If there was, I'd leave work and go home and start making sure everything is in order. If there wasn't, I'd take my time at work and assume you were just messing around. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. I would need more of a real confirmation. 1. Myself actually seeing the zombies. 2. One or more major news sources. 3. Close family or friend confirmation of zombies. 4. Emergency Broadcast Alert confirming the outbreak by the state or federal government. Someone I don't know from the Internet is not confirmation enough for me to take action and initiate my plans. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

CRAP!! there are zombies out there!! I knew this day would come. I'm so glad I always have an SKS and a two handed Fiskars axe in the trunk of my car. Any time...anywhere...I am ready for...whatever. 1 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Generally I would be like JunkCollector.I would take a post from Pedro, W76K, most of the Mods, an Admin, BigLoki, Shadowmancer, and several others under serious consideration. If it was April 1st I would NOT take ODB seriously. Otherwise, I think it would be in bad taste to list those whom I would not trust were they to make such a post. 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Probably most of the Mods and Admin and a couple of other people who I know aren't bull sh*tersOf course photographic evidence would be a lot better than none, so if they posted a photo up on their profile and gave out the warning, I would probably be more likely to believe them. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Depending on who said it and, more importantly, how, I would probably check some other sources and see if there is a slight bit of evidence or news to back up that claim or a similar one. If I find what I beleive to be evidence, I would make my way to my first-choice BOL with the people I need and begin preparation.

"I posted a thread saying: "An Outbreak has just happened, I can see a zombie through my window!"Hmm . . . Well, if it were people like Maricely or Marsden (And it wasn't April 1st), then I would grab my B.O.B and scour the news, but not actually do anything until I got proof (You never know . . .). Hey, Wkwk! There's a zombie out my window! Juuust kidding . . . But yeah, you should definitely wait with baited breath for me to shout "ZOMBEH!" I am a very trustworthy person. ;) Do you find this valuable? |

I agree with alot of folks here, I wouldn't bother glancing at the post unless it was a respectable member. If that post does come and I can back it up with breaking news or something, I'll try to throw up a quick good luck thread then get ready for the Sh*tstorm

To be honest, I don't watch the news. But I do have a radio going 24-7. So if any news came across the radio that there were zombies, or re-animated dead, I would call my dad, who watches the news like religiously, to find out what he has seen. And if he confirms it, I would then go into action. I would then turn on the news and find out where the outbreak has started and then subtract at least 2 hours from whatever the news says. And then I would put into action my full plan of action.

One thing that popped in my head after reading some of the post's is what if it wasn't reported on the news as zombies right away, maybe they would report violent attacks, granted as soon as they say the victims were being bitten then yes its Zeds. But I still don't trust mainstream media to A. get the facts right, B. report it at all, or C. report what's going on in the USA quick enough for it to make a differance And the next thing would be how far away that person is from where I live, for example if LJ (one of the people I would trust) said it, even with photo's and video's posted as well, then I would not be as worried as I would be if SGTGerman (some one else I would trust in that kind of situation)posted it. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. If it was from someone I trusted I would load up my truck make a few calls get everything ready and empty my pantry and leave. I would goto my location and hang out there with family, friends and erm some random people I don't really know. I would swing down to the nearest petshop on the way and pick up a few more dogs and food for them. Hey I love dogs, cash will soon be worthless and well they're dogs. I'd grab more supplies as I went out of town and live in the woods. I would take all my cash out of the bank lol and spend it if possible.I would take my cell it actually gets bars and internet in the middle of nowhere and see if a few people here like Treelegs or Zee-Man needed a place to go and would give directions to those people before I reached my location. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. I'm admittedly jumpy but I'd attend to my news feeds no matter who posted it, BBC world service, Voice of America, Radio Canada international, Radio National Espana etc. I have a few shortwave receivers. Then to my RSS and Twitter feeds and depending on times of day some phone calls to allegedly afflicted places, or should my network of buddies fail me there, phone a newspaper or radio station as close as I can manage to the 'outbreak', it's not hard to look up phone numbers. . . You get the picture. _ 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Hahahaha, Honestly, isn't this screwy, if I looked out my window and saw one neighbor eating another, I'd shout out to them about how I'm so not falling for that trick! =^_^= "Ha friggin ha, ya can't fool me!" They'd be all staggering towards me and I'd probably be hesitant to knock them away, afraid to hurt a jerk who is simply wearing make-up and pulling an odd prank. I'd probably take the opportunity to show my neighbors some of my non-painful anti-zombie hand to hand maneuvers that I've come up with, cuz, well, even when my partner and I practice that sort of thing I kinda freak out a little and go into defense mode once he gets so close even though I know he's not really a zombie. =*_*= Have I ever mentioned I'm freaky? =^_^= I guess after a few hours of them clawwing at my door I'd call the cops to break it up and then think that the cops were all too busy for some other reason than impending apocalypse. =^_^;= Do you find this valuable? |
