best/ preferred weapons in an outbreak of epic proportions

i want to know how others ideas on the ideal, most suitable weapons to survive after the dead rise. i would take a Remington MODEL 700 SPS TACTICAL AAC-SD rifle and a Sig 226 with a machete as my melee. i might potentially swap out the remington for a Sig 556 with folding stock and id definitely stock up on ammo for whichever one i choose.
