great for plinking, but not the inevitable zombie apocolpyse.

I'd go a 3.5 on this one because of a couple of things I've noticed on mine. I like the gun I like it a lot for plinking, I've got a 4x32 scope on mine and it is a great little target rifle if you take your time, and I've gotten a number of the 25 round mags salem is talking about, but they look really weird when you put them in Skinny at the top and fat at the bottom. I read too much GQ to look be ok with that, if the world is going to end I'm going to go out looking damn good and the combo just looks goofy. The other thing i"ve noticed is at faster rates of fire the thing tends to jam, it'll half eject the unfired case and try to put a new one in and the bolt'll clamp down on the middle of the unfired cartridge. The design of the rifle makes this hard to clear you've got to like turn it on its side hold the bolt and shake. Other than that It's a damn fine gun for the price, but if the dead were to rise and I had to go with a 22 cal semi auto, i'd either do the walther g 22. or the ruger 10/22. I feel both are more reliable, and neither looks goofy. I'll post a pic later

I bought my 10/22 years ago and have never needed anything else. I don't need to get started on the 10/22, because I brag on mine like a proud Papa. Do you find this valuable? |

What brand and make of ammo do you use in your 702?One of the reasons I am not a huge fan of .22 semi's is because most of them are picky about the ammo they use. You may need to go to a different brand or to a higher performance ammo. Most likely the jambs you are experiencing are because the shells you are using are not producing enough pressure to blow the bolt ALL the way back, with enough force to eject the empty. This is common in Semi auto .22lr,s. Do you find this valuable? |

"What brand and make of ammo do you use in your 702?I've never had a problem with Federal bulk Blue box (Champion, it is dirty though) or Winchester White Box (Very clean, my preferred ammo now) in my 10/22 or Marlin 60 Do you find this valuable? |

Allow me to state that the Jamming is not frequent. Maybe once or twice every hundred rounds. I've used about everything. I tend to use high velocity, rather than standard velocity for that reason. Its a good little gun. Its actually shoots tighter groups than my 10/22, with pretty much everything. But the almost never jams so it wins. The ruger also looks better, because of the stupid looking (but perfectly functional) 25 round mossberg mags.

After I stopped giving him hell about it, I asked about jams or malfunctions. He guesses he has put about 5k rounds of various types of .22 ammo thru that rifle and didn't recall any jams.
