My survival plan

1. Hide out the chaos periodGet your stuff (canned goods, enough water for each person (4L per day) a medical kit, a 2 way radio with lots of batteries and any good reliable weapons i have in and around my house) then hide in the highest possible place in your house ! mine is the attic so i just block the door. If you're in a 2 story just block the staircase with lots of furniture so the Zed can't get up. 2. Get out of town Get as far away from civilization as possible. Find a camping spot near running water or a lake, bring a proper water purifier, if not just use old fashion methods. Small game is always there big game you may have to travel for. Try to pick a place you have already been to so you know the local wildlife (the poisonous animals and plants) If you're stuck in town, use your 2 way radio to find any survivors hauled up some where safe (remember safety in numbers) and wait till an opening to get away comes. 3. The survival So you're far away from any town, what now? You need to start stock piling stuff ! Go to any nearby homes / farmhouses and check for survivors and ask them to join your band, take everything you can from empty houses and only use force if you have to. If possible, grow plants, your stay here is only temporary so quickly growing plants only 4. You're Sprung Zed or Humans have found your camp, you should have already gotten a quick get away ready in case of this. Your most important goal is holding your ground, leave no survivors and burn all the dead. If this is impossible then get out 5. Moving out The first month is over either the humans won or your now in a zombie world. (if the Zed won) This is about the time to find a permanent place to stay. Staying out of major towns is important (10K population +) find the best place to stay , Big strong doors, high windows, lots of Zed proof escape roots. (if humans won) go back to your now destroyed normal life. 5 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

Welcome to the site EK!You have a pretty decent base plan down there. A few tips I can give you, is to have all your stuff ready in a BOB before you have to get the heck out of dodge, so you can just grab your bag and go. http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/page/Bug+Out+Bags+%28INDEX%29 This will eliminate having to 'raid' any farm houses, I am sure that the farmers aren't going to give you all the supplies you need, they will probably be armed as well, so you're going to have casualties there. Why not just prepare everything before hand so you don't run the risk of getting yourself or your friends killed. Knocking down a staircase isn't going to be easy either and you will waste valuable energy in doing so. I would suggest just simply blocking the stairway off with furniture, it has the same effect and requires half the energy! 2. Get out of town. Where exactly will this camping spot be? Will it have running water? How will you purify that water? How will you make fire? Are there animals in the area that you can hunt? Do you know much about the flora of the area? Are there any edible plants? 3. The survival. Like I said, don't go raiding farm houses, oh and I would presume that any general stores or anything like that would already be looted. I would suggest finding a BOL that already has a building the land. So you don't have to go and build your own. Your BOL should have running water, good natural food supplies (Animals, plants), be secluded from the rest of the world and be in a low population area. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Don't edit the original post! Just make changes to it in a comment! :) Or edit it actually, it doesn't really matter. Edit: Oh and it's always good etiquette to write a little edit note like this if you make any changes! Do you find this valuable? |

That's quite a good survival plan! Nice work man! I like that you are going for the peaceful option with the farm folks, a lot of new people come on here, talking about killing and hurting innocent folk just for a few measly supplies! 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

First off, out of curiosity, what country do you live in.?First thing, During the panic period...this is not a good time to be gathering your supplies, I am not sure if you are trying to convey that your supplies are already assembled, ( Which they should be) or you are waiting until the SHTF to assemble them. The whole idea behind planning and the BOB and the BOL is that you have a plan ready to implement at a moments notice. Canned goods are fine if you are staying in one spot, or if you have some type of transport, but will get awful heavy if you have to carry any sizable supply on foot. I recommend you look into aquiring freeze dried and dehydrated supplies for your BOB.. Also, while you are planning to hide out in your attic, what plans have you made for the disposal of human waste? It can get awful nasty in a hot attic with no way to dispose of human excrement. Now while moving to a place after the panic, think about how often it maty be used by others. If it is a campground that is common knowledge to the general public, it may become over run with people, and or Uncle Zeddi. As far as stockpiling a BOL, this should be, if at all possible, done ahead of time. people who are trying to survive themselves probably wont have, or wont want to share supplies. Firstly i live in AustraliaAnd after the first week the panic period is over in most cases. And my supplies are already assembled. I have 2 BOB ready in case i need to get out quickly, but i would prefer to keep a low profile and sit tight for the first week, while all the idiots get them selves killed. The tinned goods are only for that first week of bugging in after that i would leave what ever food that was left over in a secret place where ever i hid, so i can come back for it if i really needed it. Human waste, hadn't really though about that, i think that empty bottles for urine and a bucket in the far corner of the room for poos haha. The place you camp should be far off the beaten track, probs not even a registered camp ground. Do you find this valuable? |

"Firstly i live in AustraliaYou should probably search around for an area that can suitably be your BOL prior to SHTF, so you know where you are going when you need to go. My BOL is my girlfriend's families country home, not too far away from my location but far away enough for the population to drop quite significantly. Do you have any family you want to bring with you when you bug out? I also live in Australia, what do you have in the way of weaponry? Do you, or any of your family have a firearms license and firearms? How do you plan on defending yourself come SHTF? Do you find this valuable? |

I already know my BOL when SHTF, it's on my best mates property, it's next to a running creek with steep hills on 2 sides (Way to steep for any Zed to climb) My family and friends family will be going there, and any other survivors we pick up along the way.In way of weaponry each member of my family has a recurve bow with over 1 years experience. And my friend has 5 guns (3 high power rifles and 2 single shot shot guns) with over 4000 rounds all together. We also have a combat ready samurai sword, and 3 of these old iron fire pokers, they wont break in a hurry. Do you find this valuable? |
