20. RE: slingshot bow!!!!
May 7 2012, 2:19 AM EDT
My friend has a crossbow that must have been a prototype or something, but instead of using tension from the arms or string, it uses surgical tubing. It fires full sized arrows with some lethal effect. I guess that would make it more of a "land-based-spear-gun" than an actual crossbow. I tried to find info on the company from the sticker, but it doesn't exist.

I made a couple of prototypes of flip bows. They use simple office rubber bands to get their power. Attach the bunch of rubber bands to two carabiners, then attach one carabiner to a handle and the other to the middle of some cord. The cord then wraps around 2 wheels and connects to the bottoms of the arms. The arms are tied together with cord in the front. When you draw the bow back, the bottom of the arms get pulled upwards and stretch the rubber bands. Not really a slingshot bow, but it uses rubber for it's power. "I thought the ZSDW had a policy against advertizing in threads?"They are basically how to videos on youtube. Instructional videos like this are typically ok however if it was to bring attention or profit to a separate site we would step in. Do you find this valuable? |

"um not to be mean here but idc about crossbows the thread is about slingshot bows"I know, but I was just tossing it out there for ideas just in case you would like to have something with more power and potential. Do you find this valuable? |

SOE crossbow designed for silent killing durring ww2 is what you are refering to it used elastic tension rather than bow tension to launch bolts. The current slingshot crossbow is a misnomer and decendant of those two designs.
