You're BOL has been compromised! What do you do?
May 12 2012, 9:07 PM EDT
Anyone who has a place in mind where they'd bug out to has had to think of this. What would you do if you arrived at your BOL to find it occupied? What would you do if you came up on your "safe place" only to find others enjoying all your preps? Do you find this valuable?

"Burn them out, kill them all if necessary, bodies in a mass grave, set to flames, reclaim my BOL"Is it safe to say that whoever took over your position isn't un-armed, isn't incapable of defending their new position or isn't inferior to you and yours in their tactics and skills? It's always fun to think that whoever you run into post SHTF is going to be inferior to you in every way but that isn't always the case. No matter how smart or tough you think are there is always someone smarter or tougher or both out there just waiting for an oportunity to prove that fact. I mean what if you run into Seal Team Six? 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

If they can find it... maybe they earned it... unfortunately, I'm a selfish prick.I would shut down the solar panels, and wait them out. They will hate their lives as much as I will sitting outside. I'll gladly wait for them to suffocate as I shut down the air vents. We may be able to share, but I'll be damned if I'm out in the cold while they reap the benefits of my planning, and hard work. That's a conversation we will have outside. Even SEAL Team 6 has to breath. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"If they can find it... maybe they earned it... unfortunately, I'm a selfish prick. You may want to find a way to ensure the same thing doesn't happen to you if you are the one inside back on topic If my BOL is occupied the 1st thing i would workout is how many of them are there because they would of had to breach the security to get in to start with and that would of been no fun ( wrought iron gate steel inserts in the external doors steel shutters in the windows and all of it enclosed in a wrought iron fence that goes from floor to roof on the outside balcony) so yeah there has to be more then 1. If its only a couple the 1st step is to force them into the house by harassment fire then once they are inside just wait for a awhile and keep the pressure up on them by sporadic fire every 40 minutes and keep this up for as long as possible not letting them sleep keeping an eye on th back door and the front door but never firing on the back door After they have had a rotten nights sleep use the escape tunnel to go into the building and release some really nasty chemical that when mixed makes it nearly impossible to breath and burns your eyes the gas hangs around for hours inside a closed down house. They are going to have to bailout and the most probable route they will take is the back door as no fire has come from there once they exit the building and are clear of it front or rear gun them down in the open dead men tell no tales Do you find this valuable? |

Already got it figured ;)I've planned this for years. They will have been there a very limited amount of time, and not had the benefit of being those building it. I appreciate the sentiment though. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

One solution stated about a year ago, that a drum of anhydrous ammonia connected to a remote detonator, would be more than enough to drive squatters out of your BOL.

My BOL is already occupied by my girlfriend and her family! They're moving into their new house soon! Pretty much a dream come true for me as it's a preppers paradise! Fresh water dam, fresh water creek running behind the property, lots of land, surrounded by bush land and very low population density in the area! If however I did arrive at my BOL to find my girlfriend and her family dead and the house overrun with raiders, I would take it upon myself to destroy them all. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. I'm already living in my location. I would relocate within the property, but I doubt anyone will be in the bunker.

^ This ^ along with BL's response and a bit of an attempt at negotiation. Just because they got lucky and found my stuff doesn't mean they are raiders. I may not have planned on the extra guests, but where there is a will there is a way. Should they be the raider type, then ^ That ^ Do you find this valuable? |

Alright. Would you try negotiation first or go in guns blazing? What if they just found your spot, nobody was there and they decided this would be a good place to lay up? I mean it could happen. Are they just going to end up with a bullet in their head for being in the wrong place at the wrong time? Do you find this valuable? |

"Head to BOL #2 or #3. Or come visit one of y'all..."BOL #2 and #3 are viable options here as well. Then again if LJ rolls up we'll just kill a pig and drink some beer. Come on LJ!!! If they are in BOL #1 that means they have already probably killed members of my family...payback will be a b!tch even if it kills me. Do you find this valuable? |

"Alright. Would you try negotiation first or go in guns blazing? This is where the observe and orient come in, this is where you determine what your dealing with before you decide on tactics and act, IF they appear to be the negotiating type MAYBE it would be possible to talk them out, otherwise we take them down, most likely the latter will be the case, if they are dug in they are not gonna want to leave and personally I don't want to send my enemy packing just so he can come back and possibly cause me more problems, better to eliminate the threat. I'm bugging in, but I have several other locations scouted but none stocked up. So if I need to leave my home I would check one of the other locations with what supplies we have in our cars and what I can carry in my boat (I ain't leaving my boat behind). If I were to bug out to my dad's farm in Iowa and others have taken it over, I would go a few miles down the road to my dad's worker house (six small houses for farm hands), and see who is there and or find out what's going on. Study the situation and discover if the people in my dad's house are friendly, or aggressive. If friendly talk to them and try to work with them on the farm. If hostile, sneek over and jam the back door, toss a few molotov cocktails in some windows, and wait out side the front door with my 12 gauge and Glock 21. We could live in the workers houses, and run the farm, with little problems. Do you find this valuable? |
