The alice pack is a good choice. No matter how hard the military tries to get away from it, they keep going back to the fundemental design. Do you find this valuable?

I guess that's about right. I must have gotten lucky with the one I bought for $70. Are you looking for the metal frame? I heard there are plastic ones out there.

I had a plastic frame on my old alice pack. It broke within a month of bug out trianing. That's why I want an aluminum frame to keep the weight as reasonable as possible while maintaining strenght.

No offense but in an apocalypse of any kind I think you could replace your hair products and acne soap with more food. Unless your acne is among deadly types Do you find this valuable?

Camp kitchen seems sparse. I've been having trouble finding a cooking kit that fits both needs and wallet. In desperation (OK, I wanted to do a video but had no gear, not really desperation) I used a #10 can of beans, a piece of coat hangar, and some light chain to make a camp cook pot. I was pleasantly surprised (with the food too). I may not buy anything else, although, some of those kits with fry pans still draw my desire.

Regardless of what kind of cooking you expect to do, a simple cook pot with a 1L capacity is a good idea. Keep in mind, water purification tablets are gold. Have them in you BOB for the times when you can't build a fire. It takes 4 hours for chlorine dioxide to be fully effective. Iodine tabs are only a few minutes. Boiling takes maybe an hour, including time to build a fire. The main point is that firewood (in many cases) is plentiful, your tabs are limited.

You might look at the molle II system. It gives alot of options and you can add as you need.

My facial acne is bad enough that I can't shoulder my weapon, hurts like hell.

@ Zee-Man I've been looking for a portable camp stove & collapsible pot, I tried the metal bean can & melted through the bottom after about 3 uses, firecraft is something I know how to do really well & have the need tools in the bag for it.

@ Badwolfe Tp is always in short supply at my place, cant but it in till bag is needed.

Wash your sheets and pillowcase at least once a week. Worked wonders on my acne.

Try antique stores for cheap camp pots. The Cowboys knew how to get it done.

And TP... was the second thing I ever began stockpiling. SPAM was the first. I've got so goddamn much of both now I can wipe my ass till the SPAM runs out... which will be around 3 months, or a heart attack, whichever comes first.

There is no reason you should have to pay more then $25 for a good pack.I see ALICE packs every week at flea markets, auctions and thrift stores for under $20. You know if people are selling them on ebay for $35 that ain't paying even that much for them.
I see lots of other high quality packs priced cheap at these places because many people I guess buy a pack and use it once or so and then sell them.I paid $5 for my Eiger pack and $10 for my Kelty Redtail that still had the hang tags on it

What are you planning on using a slingshot, two BB guns and 3,000 BBs for? I guess if you are planing on living off pigeons for the next 5 years it would make sense but otherwise I don't understand why you need these in a BOB. Carry the BB pistol and maybe a couple 100 BBs if it is powerful enough to kill a large bird or rabbet and you can shoot it accuratly enough.
Slingshot?....Can you actually hit anything with it reliably enough to make it worth while

A folding cot ?!......A blow up mattress takes up less space and could be used to float across a river but still probably not needed
Cold weather hats and face masks but not even a real blanket or sleeping bag. Cheap small tarp is pretty light and makes for an OK shelter

Wheres the food? I guarantee you will get hungry befor you use things like knee pads, sap gloves, extra pants, base ball bats etc.
I'd want a water purifyer bottle, I bought mine at Walmart for about $40 again something that you would actually use.
An old US surplus steel canteen with it's cup and carrier can be bought for $10 and you can cook in the cup and is more useful then a hip flask

As I said its all I have left after some a hole stole my oringinal BOB. Food & water will be MRE, Peanut butter, some canned goods, my camel back holds 2 liters & once i get my stock of food back up I can get Em water packets. Sling shot I'm am fairly accurate with plus if you need to get some where & a horde is in ur way, shoot out a window with it drawing the enemy away from our target area.
Baseball bats are my main melee, pads are for protection from falling damage, & water purification is easier with fire to boil the water.
