Instead of a mouth guard, I'd look at either a full-face mask, or just goggles and some sort of soft mouth cover, such as a buff or a dust mask. A mouth guard won't really do you any favours unless you're hit in the mouth, and if you're being hit in the mouth, then you're too close to either a zombie of another person. Do you find this valuable?
