The Guy was a crack/cokecane addict with a virus such as the one somewhere in arabra or somewheres thats actioually basically zombies so all i can say is there here! *No im not a ******* nut job*

Ok, so I have been off of here for quite some time, but when this all started I came back to see what the response on here would be. I have followed it without responding until now, the CDC did a press release today????? I wasn't concerned with this at all at first, figuring like a logical person this is all just a drug issue, etc, but now that CDC is saying qoute ""CDC does not know of a virus or condition that would reanimate the dead (or one that would present zombie-like symptoms)," I am a little concerned, although not terribly. Logically I know true zombies aren't possible, but the virus type like 28 days later or perhaps quarantine may be slightly plausible. Until the CDC getting involved and denying it, I was on the media band wagon...."damn drugs" now I may actually consider watching this a little more closely. When the gov tells you there is nothing to worry about, half the time thats when you should worry most in my experience. Again, it's unlikely, but I think I may be on a slightly higher alert myself. Any thoughts? 4  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

I'm generally distrustful of the government myself; however, I feel the media response most likely prompted the press release. CNN started spouting "zombie" and I think with the recent tongue in cheek zombie references made by FEMA and that... they felt compelled to respond. I'm not saying that is the case, I have no first hand knowledge, but that's my best guess.

I'm also keeping an eye on the incidents, but no more, or less than I was before they decided to say anything. Do you find this valuable?

The other thing to consider, however not to lower your guard or assume, is the recent attack in Florida is going to spur the media to report on similar incidents more, to bring them more into the spotlight especially if it will bring them more ratings. Again, I would not become overly concern unless one city is eating the face off each other.

Looking at the news report regarding this recent attack in Texas, the zombie perp was arrested. Zombies don't get arrested, they get shot in the head or center mass depending on the archetype.

But apparently not a case of "excited delirium". The killer hid the remains and was apparently quite capable of normal behavior. Other than the killing and eating parts. Do you find this valuable?

intelligent"Ragers" wasnt that the type of Zombies that were present in the move "The Crazies" the zombies in that movie were infected with something and were quite intelligent i believe they even used weapons and could think relatively speaking logically. the disease didn't turn them into mindless brain eating zombies it turned them into Sociopathic Killers who had the ability to think logically(relatively speaking). Also a reason why all these cases are so sporadic could be possibly a long incubation rate for the infection like it takes a whole week before it turns them into monsters. could be an explanation why it has occurred in sporadic isolated incidents rather than full blown war. Do you find this valuable?

I had just found it odd that they felt the need to come in and say there is nothing to worry about, granted the media has had a field day with this and has fanned some flames, but I just think it seems silly for them to respond, unless they had something to hide. (upside to the media throwing the word zombie around is it means some possibly awesome new zed movies coming to theaters in the next year or so do to the high interest)
What was the comment from FEMA? I hadn't seen that one yet.

On the subject of zombies don't get arrested..... if they were mindless trying to bite/kill people and were caught somehow, I could absolutely see someone assuming it's a bad trip or some sort of psychological issue (which could even be something like someone above mentioned with the movie "the crazies") and just sending them in full restraints to a wacky bin.
As for the likelyhood of any of this being more than just what they say, I'd think it is extremely low, but it does have my attention a little more. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

A thought I just had in regards to the CDC release, we all know how big of a deal they made out H1N1 and bird flu before that, etc and they all turned out to be not really a big deal or hazard. So, perhaps the logic should be if the CDC says run like hell, sit at home and have another drink. If they say nothing is wrong, well **** now it's time to be more than a little concerned. I guess that's what happens when a gov agency cries wolf one to many times.
Anyways, I'm sure the hype will die in a few weeks along with many peoples hopes and dreams of z-day. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

The Crazies was an interesting take on the zombie archetype because they were hardly even zombies. They maintained their human intelligence (even if they chose to send them in mindless hordes for some scenes because they couldn't be arsed to think of anything better), so they were fully capable of communicating and using weapons. The fear comes not from people being driven into an animalistic rage and tearing people apart, but from anyone around you suddenly turning into a cold, calculating spree killer.

Also, I recently got linked to pictures from the scene of the crime. Be warned before clicking, these are EXTREMELY GRAPHIC, so if you open these up to see a dead naked guy and someone's face turned into Jell-O while your kids are in the room, don't come complaining to me.
