What are you planning on eating or drinking? This bag sounds like all the stuff you will need for an afternoon at the lake to be honest. Also, is your bag a pack? a duffel bag? handbag/purse? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I do have some food that I can store in another small bag or in pockets. Also there are a lot of stores and houses around so i could loot if needed. My bag is a large backpack. I also have a few dufflebags, backpacks, and a huge purse in the basement that i could use if needed 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Don't rely heavily on looting as a means of feeding yourself given that not everyone is going to just up and abandon their homes. All the planning in the world won't save you from a shotgun blast after you break into an occupied building. There are a lot of long lasting foods which are more for hoarding than anything else but can be carried with you. BOBs aren't meant to carry comforts so much as they are intended for having enough to get away during panic. At minimum have a couple thousand calories already in your pack so you can keep moving without having to stop for food. Water is also very important more than food even. If you decide that a scavenger type setup is what you want then some reliable methods of entry are going to be needed most notably heavy gloves and something to either pry doors open and/or break windows. If you can pick locks with hairpins then you would make a better intruder than I would but as far as I am aware it is incredibly difficult if not impossible against many modern locks. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. I would agree with TurnAndBurn in that the contents seem to be mostly amenities, but what matters is that your BOB works for whatever time and distance you're planning for. I would add water though, and a way to purify water. And you'll need something to cook that rice in.

Toilet paper, weapons/ ammo, sleeping gear. I know there's alot more to say but those are more based on a person to person base.

The amount of clothing towels etc you have seems more like a B.I.B (not sure if correct terminology extremely new to the site) There's also, as previously mentioned no canteen or similar for a start, i know for a fact an old bean tin or similar can be used for cooking in an emergency (experience) also, unless you're in the heart of a city use leaves, the space that 2 day supply of loo roll takes up could be replace by a 1 litre canteed or a .5 litre and some water purification tabs. with the razor, invest in a straight edge "shavette" takes single edged disposable razor blades theyre often smaller than you're average cartridge and a pack of 100 sterile blades takes up little more room than 50 matches. and then with the matches unless theyre waterproof and in a ziplock bag you may aswell carry toothpicks, get a flint and steel (or modern equivalent), the cotton wool should work for this and you get an average of at least 10k strikes. also, batteries are heavy and there isn't a single mention of an emergency weapon, a hatchet would fit in there easily as would a stub machette or small bat etc and could prove invaluable. alot of movies (bad source i know) seem to agree that the Zed's detect living humans from their own numbers by smell in that we smell alive they don't, i'll personally be making a personal note to not wash (unless with plain water) and will be hanging rabbit/ pidgeon and any other dead animal skins and carcasses from my pack so as to smell dead, much like a stalking wolf or even domestic dog may roll in feces to hide their scent. theres no mention of map or compass either. no emergency high calorie long life snacks. even if 2 tins of beans for emergency. a small jar of pure 100% natural honey has no shelf life it last for thousands of years and is a great source of quick natural sugar energy. absolutely no medical equipment either but i realise this is long and ive ran out of space. :)
