My parents separated when I was thirteen, and I bounced between Houston and a small town. I had a survival plan made up for each. A few months back, I had a falling out with my father, and so Houston isn't a concern anymore. Despite having been raised in a small town most of my life, I consider the city of Houston to be my home. My mom knows about my prepping and is supportive. She's recently gained a interest herself and wants me to help her start a food reserve. Despite my age, I'm a responsible firearms enthusiast but sadly can't afford to get much range-time in. I'm a bit of a traditionalist. I wish to begin proper Blacksmithing and Flint Knapping in the near future, along with traditional Archery. I'm a writer, lyricist and a musician. Despite having little Native American blood, I am very proud of the bit that I do have. I don't need to be accepted by some fancy group to consider myself an albino redskin or anything else for that matter. I can go from listening to Merl Haggerd, to Led Zep, to Howling Wolf, to early 2000's hip-hop in the snap of a finger. (I'm iffy on anything current.) I've been hanging with a bikers for a few years now, though I lost contact with majority of folks when I had that falling out. I was putting together a motorcycle that my father was going to let me use until I could afford one of my own. My status as a "real" biker is on hiatus. I'm very long winded and have a habit of killing threads. If this is well received, I may post a follow-up. Oh well, that's the story of a Hell raiser. Post reply 3 out of 3 found this valuable. I'll just toss a beer to Timber - here, have a Cooper's Sparkling Ale, best beer in the world. I'm Steve. 41 years old, from Melbourne, Australia. I'm a nerd, a gamer (been playing tabletop war games and pen and paper rpgs since D&D didn't have an "A" in front of it) and a petrol-head. I've been married for just under 15 years, vegetarian for just under 20 and have worked in the car parts and accessories game for just under 10 years. Zombie movies are just plain fun and the whole "what would I do?" is what brought me here. I'd rather spend $1500 on a limited slip differential than a rifle, but I like talking about guns, and this is a friendly place to do that. I love most kinds of music, so long as it's done with heart. There's as much good dance music, for example, out there as bad classical - and vice versa. Well, maybe. :) Timber, I agree with you on the LOTR movies. At times I felt like they took the images from my mind, and put them up on the screen to watch! I'm amazed that you haven't got to the coast. You should do that. There's a special energy about the ocean that's impossible to explain. Post reply 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Mate, I recently discovered aggrotech, and I kinda like it. Screamo's an acquired taste, but I do listen to a bit of everything (mostly rock/metal/electro). I just recently graduated high school and will be starting college early next year to earn a Bachelor's in Political Science w/ possible minors in Criminal Justice or Spanish. I'm giving serious thought to enlisting with the Air Force as a Security Forces Specialist. My ultimate goal, however, is to get a job in law enforcement.
