My nation shall be known as Wise County Confederation or W.C.C. The government system is a confederate system and would allow "states" to govern themselves more or less how they see fit with the central government being the sum of of it's partsthe central laws that should be expected are as follows: All people will be held to a certain fitness and combat training level men, women, children, even the wealthy and political leaders (as long as it doesn't interfere with a direct positive effect politically culturally or economically) NO ONE is exempt from the draft during wars or skirmishes unless they are more valuable, directly to the war effort as a citezen instead of a soldier It's a dog eat dog world if somebody steals your stuff we might not have the resources to take care of it but no one cares if you deal with it yourself (but I intend to recruit a police force quickly so you should wait up a bit) Now I should make a mention that this society would be incredibly right-wing(at least me and my friend/ally) and monarchial but none of the really bad parts but with a democratic version of an oligarchy as a central government your essential freedoms will not be at risk So does anyone want to become a Citizen By the way in serious need of engineers... I have a plan Do you find this valuable?

A Confederation, a monarchy, a democracy and an oligarchy in one? Sounds...convoluted.Starting a nation is a large task. It takes hundreds of people years to put together, and they don't often get it right. Collapse might be a decade or a century away, but it is definitely more work than you think it is. There is no need to create a multiple tiered system for what is going to be a population you can count on your fingers. 6 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

How on earth am I going to enforce justice against a thief 3x my size? It would be a free for all. And a right-wing government isn't women's rights friendly. I'd probably steer by your land.

I think I will pass on your nation, I don't think my wife is going to give a hooting h#ll about your combat training. So I am supposed to take the law into my own hands, yet your going to urge us to be patient until you can get a police force created in a few years?? Sounds like a suckfest to me. I have a vision of Hatfields vs McCoy's on a much larger and grander scale going on. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I'm curious what qualifications you have to lead? You claim a monarchy (with democratic tidbits thrown in to keep the masses happy). Who would choose to live in such a colony?

"A Confederation, a monarchy, a democracy and an oligarchy in one? Sounds...convoluted."I think that the only type of leadership that will work post-SHTF is dictatorship. Hopefully, benevolent dictatorship will work, but opressive dictatorship would be just as likely, if not more so, and that's wat this guy seems to be trying to do without making it appear as if that's what he's doing. You see its a confederacy in that the states are more separate and each state in of itself is a monarchy each member of the oligarchy which forms the central government is democratically elected with three representative per kingdom the chances for corruption will be initially high but hey it's a nation isn't it always like that.

I doubt it.Monarchy = hereditary ruler. Oligarchy = rich/powerful small group, usually families. This all sounds like you have been watching too much Game of Thrones. Do you find this valuable? |

I would argue that absolute monarchies and powerful monarchies are always defacto oligarchies... but meh.

I think a democracy or something similar would work as well in a post-apoc world. Just because you allow people a vote does not mean a committee means before every decision is made. "I would argue that absolute monarchies and powerful monarchies are always defacto oligarchies... but meh."Well a monarchy is usually one family, with an oligarchy being a group of them since the money/power is handed around between them. Do you find this valuable? |

I dabble in weapons engineering. Homemade bombs, modified firearms, etc. With enough supplies I can even construct a thermobaric weapons...the ultimate Zed killer. btw...I was once incarcerated for trying to create a nuclear weapon. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Trying to create a nuke? Hard to believe you would have gotten even part of the necessary materials."It was time consuming and difficult. Nukes aren't practical against Zeds anyway. The ones that are outside the initial blast radius will only spread radiation to wherever they go. Do you find this valuable? |

"I doubt it.actually that isn't true, a monarchy can be elective. in fact many if not the vast majority of monarchies that have existed were at one point or another elective. a good example of an elective monarchy would be the Mali empire though because if you were related to the last king that gave you a major advantage so a more purer example would be The Kingdom of Kongo, it was a purer example of an elective monarchy, where blood claims had even less pull. Nobles elected a king's successor, and it was common for the successor to be of a different family as his predecessor. This form of elective monarchy existed in the kingdom from its inception in around 1400 until its complete disintegration in the early 20th century. also oligarchy doesnt mean rule by the wealthy that would be an aristocracy, in an oligarchy it just means a small group of guys have all the power. They can gain that power from things other than being rich, These people could be distinguished by royalty, wealth, family ties, education, corporate, or military control. Do you find this valuable? |
