starting survival

we all have played a zombie game and/or saw the movies and we all know what are the best ways to make the undead dead again but when a zombie apcoalypse really does happen we need to be more realistic E.g.:the walking dead or night of the living dead and we need to be careful cuz even though a firearm works best they also attract other undead (except if using a silencer) and it isnt easy to find fiearms anywhere so start simple like a hammer or a bat and work your way up 7  out of 7 found this valuable. Heheheh... yes! I want to stand against a horde of the undead with.... my hammer...?

No

If noise is an issue, which has been debated at great length on here, there are other options. Bow, crossbow, traps... ect. I wouldn't want to mess around in close quarters with a zombie purposely.

This is something I've mentioned before.

In a zombie apocalypse, you'd be dealing with two major types of threats. Threats that are only dangerous within the range of a melee weapon (zombies,) and threats that are fully capable of using a variety of weapons (other humans.) In either case, I don't think that limiting yourself to a weapon that requires you to be within a foot or two of ypur enemy is a good idea.

Furthermore, there's also the hunting aspect. It's difficult to procure food for your family with a hammer.

I have a toolbox full of useful items, and I have some garden tools (shovel, pick axe) also. I guess I can start from there. And my house is easily defensible. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Don't forget the third enemy, nature. It would suck to survive zombies & raiders just to have bambi gore you. Nature is a b*tch.

& silencers don't full surpress the sound a gun makes Dman. It lowers the sound quite a bit but is still very audible.
