Check it out, tell me what you think. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to ask, as this may remind me of notes that I need to add to the article.

Here's the address to their website. Check 'em out, especially if you've never heard about them and are in the market for a new IWB holster. Take a minute and browse around
--- http://oldfaithfulholsters.com/ ---

Here's the address to their assemble-at-home "Stage 3" version of the same holster I reviewed. It is a complete unit, you just have to put it together yourself. No cutting, trimming, drilling or tapping required. There's a pretty large selection of handguns to pick from, also.

I see you got the forward cant, is that better than the neutral cant for IWB carry?

I'm used to the neutral SERPA holster and am wondering which is better or worse.

Looks pretty good but I'm a shoulder holster guy.

Might try it for the Glock 17. Just have to see if it feels better than others I've tried.

Just have to figure out which style is best for me.

Nice review LJ, I checked out the site some time ago when the link popped up on the home page, I am considering one for my Sig, I currently conceal with my Galco but sometimes I feel I have to overdress for that holster, so then I use my Blackhawk Cover 6, but even that restricts what I can wear, I have never been impressed with most IWB holsters but these seem to be top notch!

Thanks for sharing the info

What style would you all advise? I feel better cross drawing but use standard drop rig with the Taurus on my tactical. But standard cross draw shoulder rig for CCW.
I'm 6'3" 200-220lbs. It will carry the Glock 17

I prefer IWB rigs for CCW, because training for it is almost identical to training for a handgun carried OWB in a standard holster. I've trained and practiced in the roughly "three o'clock" body position so many times over the last few years with both types of holsters that I'm reluctant to change where I carry a handgun. I've built muscle memory to go to the same place and draw in a very specific way. I hate to actually need said gun and end up going to the wrong place on my body to retrieve it.

So I'm somewhat biased. I will only carry a handgun on my hip from 3:00 to 4:00, which is right on the side of my right hip (for the kiddies who don't know how to read an analog clock face.) A perk to being biased is that it's increased my reaction and draw time, and would certainly do so under stress also.

Thanks SlowRide. I'll admit, the review is a little rushed because I'm very excited about this holster and I want people to hear about it. I do plan on adding to it as time goes on and I pick up longer-term details.

If you're interested, they have a 30-day trial - if you don't like it, return it. Just make sure to tell 'em that LJ (Jon) from the Zombie Wiki sent you, if you do decide to try it out! They've got a little notes tab on their order page where you can type that in.

I do want to add a note - these are tuckable rigs. I don't wear mine that way (I guess I could if I had to) but I did try it out a few times. It definitely works. If I worked an office job, I'd get myself a slimmer handgun and one of these holsters for it, and wear it with a shirt tucked in over it.

I'm willing to wager that if you choose an Old Faithful rig for your Glock 17, your results will be similar to those I've had with my Ruger, maybe even more favorable. They're similar dimensionally, but the Glock is a lot lighter and a little thinner, which should make it even more comfortable to wear than my P89.

Anybody else have any questions or comments on the review?

I'd like to add a quick note - Old Faithful Holsters has chosen to highlight my review on their own website, posting a link back here to the ZSDW! Guess they really enjoyed it!

They're cool, I think you'll really like it. You will need to tinker with it a little bit after you get it, especially as it breaks in to your handgun. The little rubber spacers and screws need to be switched around with shorter ones, but they're supplied with the holster, along with the appropriate hex wrench. It's honestly like playing with Legos! =)

I really want to get one of their DIY kits for Maricely's Mauser M2... it would be really nice to have a quality holster for that.

I've been informed that one of our site members (who shall remain anonymous unless they decide to say something themselves) has already chosen to purchase their own Old Faithful holster kit! I hope you like it buddy, I'm thinking you will. Do you find this valuable?

Another update:

Old Faithful Holsters has added an easier way for you to list that you came from the ZSDW to order a holster for you carry handgun. When ordering, after clicking "Select Options" to specify the details of your holster, the final tab states: -- Select how you heard about us --. Scroll down to "Internet - Zombie Survival Wiki" and select this option.

If you choose to purchase a holster because of the review you've seen here, please share the love. Thanks guys!

I just added a video that I dug up from their website, showing some of the abuse that these holsters can withstand. I wish I'd have seen it before I completed the review. Here is a link:

Waiting like a kid for Christmas, for this nice little holster to roll through. When mine gets in, I will be sure to share my thoughts. Oh btw I bought the satge three kit so I can assemble it myself, cost like 35$ less that way. I really like how old faithful gives you the option to do various stages of the holster yourself. The link wouldn't work for me on my DROID.

But I did see a vid with a OF holster getting ran over and literally getting hammered.
Tough lol

Just got my Old Faithful Holster today, I bought one for my Karh CW9. I picked the stage three kit so very minor assembly was required. It took me a whole ten minutes to put it together, and let em just say I couldn't be more pleased with it. It conceals great and is comfortable to boot, Thanks again LJ for the review and steering towards an awesome product. Do you find this valuable?
