Tennis racket turned zombie slaying device?
Jul 11 2012, 11:07 PM EDT
Hi guys. I'm sure there are some innovative members here. Now i need some ideas on how to modify an ordinary, modern tennis racket into a weapon fit to, pragmatically, ravage the undead. I'd love to try some ideas and see how they turn out.

Use the money to buy a baseball bat or a hammer. Done. Sorry, but that's really all I can think of. I don't know of anything offhand that could be used to make it a weapon. 9 out of 9 found this valuable. Do you? |

Challenge accepted. Unstring the weaving on the racket, reuse as cordage. Break the wooden racket (it's wood right?) and throw it out. Get a large kitchen knife (like a Chef's knife) and some duct tape. Use the duct tape and scavenged cordage to make a handier handle. Now you've got a real weapon. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. "Challenge accepted.Instead of throwing the rest out why not attach blades to it? Then you have a smaller version of Tira's weapon from soul calibur. 0 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

I'll be there in a minute or two to sort this out! ;P Haha but seriously, a tennis racket is flimsy, there's no hope of it ever being a "Zombie Slaying Device" as after a singular whack, it would probably smash. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. It's cool, they found the yellow cake in my fridge, but the frosting was normal vanilla , and not that dreaded FRENCH vanilla so they let me go. On a side note, the body cavity search was less obtrusive than I thought it would be. I might have leaned something about myself... hmmm.

Braydonn try not to think of this as this as turning a tennis racket into a weapon, but as turning everyday things into potential weapons.

"Braydonn try not to think of this as this as turning a tennis racket into a weapon, but as turning everyday things into potential weapons."Yes, but if you've ever seen an angry tennis player throw their racket, you'll know that they often collapse. They're built to be light weight these days. If you have an old wooden one, they're stronger but still don't take much of a beating. Could be worse, you could be trying to use a badminton racket. I suppose you could attach sharp objects to it, but really, it's easier to spank a zombie with a tennis racket than to kill it. Do you find this valuable? |

What I could do with it? it really depends on the racket type. Take an old school ash and catgut racket dismantle it cut the hoop and flip the two halves join them with an overlapping joint and use the gut as cordage to make the string and you have yourself a rather nice improvised ash short bow.

The only way i could come up with was to somehow attach blades or some other sharp, skull piercing object to the strings but even that doesn't sound too effective. mostly because tennis rackets really have no durability.

Pick up tennis racket. Go to Home Depot. Buy 1"x18" balck pipe section, a 1"x1"x1" black pipe elbow joint, two 1" black pipe plugs, an eye bolt and a 1" pipe cap. Take everything home, put the pipe sections together in the 'timber hammer' configuration. Remove the grip tape from your tennis racket, and unthread the strings. Put the grip tape on the handle of your shiny (matte) new hammer, and use the tennis racket string to make a wrist loop.you can then smash the frame of the racket against a wall, and you have a useful weapon for the z-poc (timber hammer) and some modern art (ex-racket) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. If you stick blades all around it, you have a good weapon

I can just imagine the guy from Dead Rising tossing up a grenade and nailing it with a tennish racket...But honestly, +1 to Jim's post... if you are THAT low on options to the point where you can ONLY modify a tennis racket, you are screwed. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
