Choosing a leader.
Jul 15 2012, 10:14 PM EDT | Post edited: Jul 15 2012, 10:14 PM EDT
So it is a while since SHTF and TEOTWAWKI is true. Your fictional group(list all possibilities and situations please :) ) now has to choose a leader, since democracy does not really work in crysis situations uless you communicate at the speed of light. But that leader has to be someone from this site :D.
Who would it be?
In what situations would it perform best?
Why?

Personally my top 2 would be either PedroAsani or Devilnuts. They both are smart and can make the right choices, loved by the crew, somewhat tolerant and work well under pressure.

It is 4 AM and i cannot think right now, so just give me your ideas(people).

Personally I'd choose me, mainly because I've never met any of you mofo's and all of you may be posing as people that you are not.

Barring all of that, oh I don't know.... um you , yeah you right there, with the cheetos and that stupid look on your face. You are now my Patton.

lol, my group is me, wife, and our dogs. I'll stick with me too. Too bad there aren't any members here with the name 'reliableleader'. Then maybe I'd be a bit more inclined to trust them.

Not to knock anyone here, but like Dems said, most of us have never formally met. It's a little tough to trust your life to someone who you only know by a screen name and a few pics.

The thread isn't about "Oh, but I don't know you", it's about being forced to choose by necessity. Do you find this valuable?

Are we talking as if everyone on the ZSDW is in out 'fictional group'? If that is the case I'd probably go with Timber or LJ. Seems like they'd both be very competent leaders. Do you find this valuable?

i would have 3 leaders a Generalissimo (head of military), a Consul (head of government), a Premier (head of state). their jobs are as such

Generalissimo: will command the security/military but also will have command of the group in a combat situation. will be the groups "Fist" of sorts.

Consul: will basically control the inner workings of the group things like law and order, mediating disputes, making sure S*** gets done, overall being the formal leader.

Premier: Job is to represent the group in foreign affairs and basically be the face of the group to other groups.

these are the candidates for the 3 positions
Consul(head of government):
1.Timberattler, very mellow freedom loving guy keeps it simple and on the right foot.
2.Me, i love me, also i know what i want in a leader.
3.Zee-Man, just overall cool and very useful.
4.Pedro, administrative and planning genius.
5.Marsden, he has Einstein as his profile picture, need i say more?
6. LJ126, competent and able leader.
7. Kinelta, caring good hearted person also quite intelligent and level headed a little blunt which is very good.
FrankLeeDeRainged, all who understand know why he should be on this list. those who don't will learn soon enough.

Premier(head of state):
1.=jesse=,good natured guy who i think would be a good guy to represent the group well, also he has a good smile which is a bonus.
2.Maricely, vicious vixen who will look out for the best interest of the group.
3.TreeLegs, represents what a group should represent intelligence meter pretty high.

Generalissimo(Head of the Military)
1.MajorDamage, all in his path will crumble and fall.
2. DLOWTHEMAD, everyone know how epic it would be too see are military forces charging into the enemy viking style with this man at its helm screaming his lungs out to he world.
3. BigLocki, explosives

Sorry but I don't really know any of you. And the ones I PM live to far to matter. So that leaves me with family and friends. And on that one we will have to wait and see. People change in a crisis and the follower now could be the leader SHTF

So until SHTF happens I will just plan on me for my direct family and who cares past there.

I haven't been here long enough to choose. There are a few I might choose, but there's other issues I'd have to consider first. Do you find this valuable?

Vote for Pedro. (please someone get the reference) I could easily see Marsden, Pedro, LJ, or Timber as competent leaders (as well as some other regulars on the site).

"Timber. "
I'd agree with that. Timber has always seemed like a laid-back, practical kind of guy to me. Not my mention his plans and expertise seem to fit well with my environment and situation.
My other probable choices would be Pedro and FLDR, they seem to have excellent organizational skills that would probably come in handy, or Mr. LJ, as he seems like he'd make a pretty competent leader.
I actually think most of the Moderators that are active as of late could be of great use as a council as well.

I'd have to travel pritty far to get anyone here I talk to, some people here would definately be worth the trip though. LOL if the world falls and your colony fails or some other misfortune befalls you guys if you can make it up here you're welcome to stay in the forest colony.

In real life well thats easy my escape group and I have a system in place already based on the skillset of the people involved. We have phases in development for the area and since they're my lands I get to be in charge from the rally point until we hit camp. Woohoo I'm the boss lol lol that is only because I know every way to get to the hunting grounds. I could easily be replaced with a highly detailed map lol thats plan B something I am working on. After we set up camp we work on pre agreed plans and the people in charge depends on the project being done. LOL i don't want a baker in charge when we do drainage. I think the best skillset should take the lead based on our agreed order of setup. After that it is a pannel of experts and direct votes thats bout it. If we get much bigger and new influx of people it shifts to the same pannel of experts an equal number of elected officals and direct votes all regulated by a pre agreed set of rules lol.

I'm no dictator lol I fully accept my temp limited role as leader. I am nothing more than a living map hoping to be replaced by a series of laminated maps lol

If you're as handsome as you say you are, you might end up with a bleach blonde mullet on the back of some raider's dirt bike.
