Assuming I'm indoors/ bugging in, I'd be making camp upstairs. I don't think it would set off any alarms to leave a bunch of broken glass or other small, noisy items laying around the floor. Assuming anyone came inside, the crunching of whatever is beneath their shoe would alert my dogs (assuming I didn't hear it). Do you find this valuable?

Nice idea.
Light bulbs broken should do the trick. Almost every abandoned home should have a few in fixtures and lamps for use. Not like 110 bulbs will of much use without power anyways.

As LJ said. A bonus to dog(s) is they can be eaten in a dire situation. Now you might have to take the tutus off first before you cook them lol

Good idea. Actually another benefit to this is that, in an Apoc situation, broken glass and the like wouldn't necessarily be all that out of place, so if a Raider rather than a zombie were to step on it and make a noise it wouldn't always stand out automatically as something that somebody deliberately set up to make a noise. That way the noise would alert you, or your dog as the case may be) without by default alerting the trespasser as well. Other zombies or other Raiders wouldn't automatically come a'running just because one of their own stepped on a bit of broken glass, because there'd probably be broken glass everywhere.

Yup- pretty much hit the nail on the head. Much less obvious than a siren blaring out "Danger Will Robinson Danger!!!" (lost in space anyone???)

Me and MD were actually just discussing something like this last night. Leaving around any shot up raiders on your property should serve as an 'early warning' to anyone with bad intentions....though you risk having the one nut job convincing himself you're probably out of ammo and trying to raid anyway.

bodies around a fence with bullet holes in them is also a 'dead' giveaway that somebody with a gun was or is there. As well as a disease risk. Do you find this valuable?
