Not too bad...
Nov 5 2007, 1:27 PM EST Though have you considered the idea that many people will flock to these major stores? In this event, do you think you will take over or do you have some sort of plan for this? I'm just curious, seeing as I like that you're thinking ahead. 5 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Not too bad...
Nov 9 2007, 4:52 AM EST Yeah I figured that some people would have the same idea, but hopefully everyone has seen dawn of the dead and those idiots will go to a mall instead of my beloved Costco…ha ha. But seriously early detection is key here! If you pick up on the signs early enough you could be the first to a Costco due to the fact that most of the public would still be in denial of the outbreak. Most people, be it people unlike you and I, will inevitably make the early mistake of staying in their house as I am sure the news will suggest this due to the fact that it in the early stages of a outbreak it would be reported as mass violence instead of a zombie outbreak. If you think about it, other than people who recognize it as a zombie out break, who would really go to such a place during the early stages? If all those things fall into place then I would fall back on my other plans that I have outlined such as my non-infected foe article and various other entries….fortify, and defend is the name of the game once I have got to my location Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Not too bad...
Nov 9 2007, 4:56 AM EST In response to the bus or RV comment I see what you are getting at. However the only point for a bus or RV isn’t for long distance travel because as you stated gas would be an issue. The bus/RV is in my plan simply due to easy transportation of trusted friends for my team, rations, and most importantly ammunition and firearms. This is just a temporary fix till we get to our fortification choice. In reference to the maneuverability issue, sure it can’t turn on a dime…but not really an issue here…I am not trying to win a race. Besides a bus, u-haul, or RV could just plow through anyone stupid enough to walk in front of it Do you find this valuable? |

Sep 15 2008, 12:09 PM EDT You wanna know what people are gonna do? Watch any footage of a disaster, riot, etc.. hitting a community. First chance people will get, alot will start looting stores, without even the knowledge of a Z-attack, it will be strictly for oppurtunity. I would suggest, have as much basic needs stuff on hand and then after acouple days, when things have quieted down, meaning people are figuring out whats going on and holing up, dying, etc... then start working your way out to the smaller places first, getting stuff the earlier looters haven't gotten (camping fuel anyone..). If you live anywhere where it gets cold in the winter, this would be a good time to start stocking up on winter clothing, blankets, etc... More later on this... 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Sep 16 2008, 1:04 AM EDT Personally, I like it. Surte, there ARE better plans. But for overall survivablity, this is one of the better ones. The only thing I didn't like was the xenophobic attitdue; Me, I'd let ANY survivor in. Then again, I got "issues," so listening to me might NOT always be the best idea. Do you find this valuable? |
