My group has decided to purchase and modify 2 Buses. We put in a bid at an area school on 2 Buses. We will then modify them with a medical area. armory, mess, storage, extra fuel storage, fold up bunks, and retractable grading on the windows, and doors. For use in any disaster scenario. We will also be buying a good semi box trailer (we have 3 semi tractors, we use for harvest trailers).
We have set aside every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month to go shooting. We have also set aside every 1st. Saturday of the month for airsoft battles ( which ever scenario is pulled out of the coffee can).
We will give away our can and dry good survival stock pile of 15,000+ meals to several homeless shelters at the end of June and in December. Restocking twice a year so we won't have to worry about any thing going out of date or spoilage. And we can do a good thing for those who need help.

The problem is, maybe some of us owns those military vehicles, and in case of an outbreak, can the military trust us and give us assistance? Even military vehicles are expensive, and in a middle of an outbreak, I know we can get some, but only a few areas have these vehicles left over and because they are military, they can use it against the zeds, leaving us alone...

"I don't know why there would be a bunch of vehicles just sitting at the base. If there IS an infection serious enough that you could freely take a tank without the law coming down on you, it's more than likely that the infection was serious enough that the military would be deploying all possible forces to defense. Not to mention that the armory and keys would most certainly be locked if the base was abandoned." The only situation where the military wouldn't control the situation anyway would be an extremely quick infection spread, unless confusion was massive over what was actually happening. In which case, the military would have very little time to deploy fully, and would have a large infection rate as well.

I'm not sure where everybody lives, but if your city is large enough theres bound to be a large High School. Since this varies so greatly among the regoins, it may not be applicable, but a larger high school generally has 2 floors, there are some medical supplies, heavy doors, some food, many many tools in the janitorial/maintanance quarters and tech labs(all of which designed for building maintanance and construction), large stone walls, and almost unlimited things you can break down for parts. AND there is most likely roof access for scouting ahead or falling back. The downsides are theres limited food, and many entrances, most of which are small and easily barricated, but they are numerous. But this also means it has fall back points and high escapeability. Last of all, If the building has a genorator, or you can set one up, there are computers and internet for communication and new, largescale lighting, and CAMERAS. these could be vital in moitering barricades or any form of break in. All in all, a school would be a great choice. (and mine)

I live right next door to an elemetary school, the beauty in this is, my community I live in has very few entrances, could be easily barricades and a home depot and a wal-mart just down the road, the only real concern are guns, but as long as Z-Day doesn't come before Christmas I'll be fine (getting 3 guns, a 270 bolt-action, a 20-gauge, and a .45 pistol.) the scool would act as a central location with the field as the AG center and snipers could be posted in the near by businesses and water towers. I think someone had defence in mind when they made this place XD.

"And all I’m seeing is you whining and making exuses to NOT do it because it doesn’t “work” for you. That’s the same sort of thinking that John_234 was using when he deleted a half-dozen entries on the civvy weaps page- When I finally snapped on that, look what happened.
¿It doesn’t work for you? Fine. Get over it." i'd also like to point out (after examining the photo more closely in photoshop) that the only connection between the two actions is at the "top" of the receivers, and it appears that its made using a coupler overtop of the rails. interesting concept, but its one of those "good ideas that somebody had and got lazy after the first prototype" i'm not deleting shit Reddpants, i'm posting my opinion about a prototype weapon. You are saying "sweet" and i'm merely saying "why"

I think it depends on where are you, with whom and how many zombies are chasing you. If I'm by myself with a bunch of zombies I would take as much as I could before turning into one of them, or I would try to be a suicider bomber, taking a few with me and dying before turning into one of those disgunting things.
If I'm with other survivors and by any chance there's this one zombie that bit me, I would kill myself, to protect the ones I love or the other people I'm with. I wouldn't want to turn into a zed and then try to eat my family or friends.
If were surrounded by zombies (me and the other survivors) and one bit me, I would take as many as I could before turning into one, hoping one of my friends will shoot me before I can do any damage.

My method of dealing with this is the same as everyone who didn't want to kill them. They can still be useful but if it's a religious nut like that woman in "the mist" proclaiming this is god's doing etc then I'm probably going to lock them up or something. I personally can't stand them.

Yes and no, we can all guess the good about the sea but if one ship mate gets infected it could turn the whole ship. Plus people get cabin fever and would jump off and swim to shore. I would never do that.

Great Points! I strongly agree with you. Raiding may seem attractive at first, but when you make that decision you enter a world of deceit. Eventually, there will be too many ghouls and the chaotic mess you once thrived upon will vanish as pockets of humanity go into hiding. It is imperative that we peacefully coexist with our fellow man. Great Arguement.

I have to say, when I hear "Raiding" on this site, more ofter than not it's about getting supplies from an abandoned or zed infested area, not another settlement. as skip already said, there IS a differance, and that differance is taking things that dont belong to anyone vs. taking things that have been previously claimed.

As long as we're talking about kick-butt aircraft, someone should take the time to "paraphrase" content from W:EN about the AC-130H Spectre and AC-130U Spooky. If the A-10 "Warthog" is the "War" Horseman of the Apocalypse, then the Spectre/Spooky is his "Death" companion. Warthog's specialty is dropping bombs & missiles - Spooky/Spectres get the job done with massive cannon/howitzer/autocannon firepower. Can also be outfitted with Hellfire missiles for stand-off capability (air-to-ground, antitank, antipersonnel).

No, he got the names right. And he's only partly right on the Hellfires, as there are PLANS to make them capable of mounting them.
Also, if you manage to get a gunship and you happen to have 30mm ammunition handy (from other vehicles or military base raids, perhaps), you can replace the 40mm cannon and the 25mm gatling gun with a Bushmaster II.
Of course, I would be surprised if you could find one of these things lying there. I would actually more than likely just strip them of their guns and equipment than risk trying to fly one and have my pals man the guns, unless of course I was with a group of people trained in such weaponry.

That way we all get our word out there without derailing someones thread. I t could be used to discuss things like politics or improvments for the site eg. this thread. So what do you think?

I understand that the zombies use the sense of smell since they have crappy vision to begin with. My idea of using it if some other survivor was coming after you for your gear or trying to kill you I mean it can be use it a couple of scenarios but the hiding from zombies won't work just other survivors that start going crazy. I made a ghillie suit a couple of years ago for when I paintball/airsoft and I have extra netting I can just make a quick bushrag like the kind that covers the front and back like this one. http://www.itsthenorm.org/bushrag.jpg
