Okay well first off i live in a city, Vancouver, BC Canada to be exact. Not so good eh?
At first, Using the Max Brooks Classification system, i'd see whats happening. Even if it class 2,3, or total apocolypse, i'd wait a bit of it out.. Why? When you in a big city, and an outbreak like this happens, ALMOST EVERYONE will be trying to get out of the city which means BIG traffic Jams = Perfect place for the infection = If you on the highway at that time, almost certain death. How i would defend my home: 1. First off i'd turn on every bath, shower, and sink that i'd have and plug the drains to have reserve water. 2. I'd run to my local lumber store ( 1 block away from my house ) and get all the wood i think is necessary. 3. Come home, and destroy my staircase, the only way up or down is with a ladder. 4. I'd than begin Reinforcing my windows and doorways, now for this part i have a little trick. BEFORE YOU BARRICADE THE HOUSE FOLLOW THIS STEP Since the "colour" or "shade" Black absorbs light, paint all your windows black except for parts that you want to look out, that way this prevents light from getting in/out. Than begin with your barricading, after that take sheet and garbage bags. On the side of the sheet that will face the windows, tape/glue/ the garbage bags to the blankets, than hang them up on the wooden boards, this way hardly any light will get in. 5. For the top windows, i just paint them black and put blankets over them. Weapons: Since my family doesnt have any guns i will use make shift weapon. Freezing airsoft bullets and using the guns, baseball bats, knives, axes, and aluminum/steel/titanium baseball bats. Thanks for reading this and comment please. Peace, and good luck when the zombies attack

1.Ammo for my pistol and 2 rifles.
2. 2 cans of mixed veggies, the big kind. 3. 2 Nalgene bottles of water. 4. a Medi-kit, the basic stuff to stop bleeding, stitch up wounds and stop infection. 5. a small cotton bedroll. And that's about all I'd truly need for a short-term hike, i'd put up more stuff but I'm not one for being elaborate.

Yes, gear is important. Yes, weapons are important. Yes, shelter is important... but I believe the key to surviving a zombie situation is FREEDOM!
Freedom from heavy items to keep you slow, freedom from complicated weapons that requires maintenance, freedom from a place that will keep you from reuniting with a group of hunters. Many times have I seen a horde of slow shuffling bodies catch up to an even slower person being weighted down by his or her gear. If you manage to survive with a pocket knife, bolt cutters, a toothbrush and a hammer to use as a blunt weapon, you are golden. Eventually when you become a master, you will even drop "some" of those items mentioned above (yes, that's right...NOT the toothbrush). Along the way, you will find tools and goodies that will make your life simpler but alas they are just tools that will slow you down in the end. Learn to use them and discard them along the way; learn to value a good survival tool. I know of a vet that survived 1 year 7 months in a Zombie outbreak with just a Rambo Knife. He used other items, but he only kept the knife using it to dig trenches, open cans of food, pry doors @ their hinches, cut barbwire, he even used it as a fork, (no, he didn't use his rambo knife as his toothbrush...) Skills will give you the means to survive without schlepping a whole lot-a-stuff around. Skills will give you the freedom you need to move fast and escape. Think "McGuiver" and as you see a poor soul get stuck out a window by his or her heavy backpack and get eaten by you know who, you will be able to jump through the other window and make your grand escape. Practice and learn to tell the difference between a multipurpose item (keeper) and a just-n-d-moment tool (throwie). what is the least nunber of items you can survive with? which items do you consider "keepers"

I've created this map of Ireland with the start of my chronicling of various useful locations throughout Ireland. It will eventually include all Irish military installations, airports, ferryports, large shopping centres (malls), Redoubts, and instructions from as many towns as I am familiar with.

Without the will, there is no way. Simple concept.
¿Who’s gonna give a rats ass, though, after the rise of the skin jobs, right? You should. Those of you who remember MIR’s reentry, you remember the relatively limited damage she did; That was WITH the advantages of controlled de-orbit AND that her total mass was as much as any two sections of ISS combined. ISS has 12 sections. Imagine that; ISS breaks up as she makes her uncontrolled de-orbit, with all her toxic substances still on board (fuck asbestoses, I’m talking some REALLY gnarly shit, much of it radiological). If the advantages of keeping her in orbit and functioning (the ability to service GPS and WX sats, pure research, etc) doesn’t like the fire under your asses, then the dangers of letting her crash had better do it. So- Let’s ¡SAVE ISS! Research Material: http://www.geocities.com/andysfo1and2page/iss.html I basically took the wikipedia article on ISS and simplified it (I took out anything I didn’t think was actually important).

I was conversing with another member on here and we both realized that on Hallow's Eve, [Halloween for the n00bs] if the Skinjobs were to rise that it would be among our most vunerable moments....NOT because we'll mistake people dressed as Skinnies for real ones, which we WON'T, rather, that a lot of people on here and not will be away from their guns and their supplies as they're out trick-or-treating, either with family, friends, or on their own...
This ties in a lot with my [botched] thread on Starting Out On Z-Day...However, Hallow's Eve has its own unique challenges to face. Think about these when you go to the Halloween USA or your preferred Costume Shop: Is this costume going to stand up to a swipe or gnaw from Unkle Zed? Can I run in this costume? Can I carry gear or equipment in this costume? How well does my costume blend in with the local environment? Is my costume flame-retardant? Will I be comfortable in this costume for up to several days if not more? *Will I be mistaken for something which I'm not? Is the costume wearable in adverse weather? Is this costume durable at all? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, if you're going to a costume party, you should think about these: How defendable is this location? How well do I know the people that will be attending? What supplies or other assets are at the location? How far is this location in relation to my home? What are the available routes to and from the location to my home? -------------------- I'd like for everyone to THINK before they reply.....If you don't have anything to say regarding the subject, I'd like for you to keep it off the page : ) [AgEnT_GrEEn]

Well, its also kinda simple, it also all depends on where and how many you fight with. If you live in a rural town with only 100 Ghouls, its actually possible to take every one of them out & then contruct a barricade around the town. But in places like new york & places like that, its physically impossible, you'd need the entire US Military & then some, thats saying everyone knows shoot in the head, the simple way to avoid anything. Is take a small city, build on that, zombies are slow & stupid, this is key. So to get from California to lets say Navada, it'll take a long time. A good place to live is Alaska, for obveious reasons. Only issue is if a outbreak happens, its hard to get ahold of anyone else.

Hey mate, just a thing with the sports drinks, probabli best to pack a ratio of 2:1 in the way of water to sports drinks. They arent all the best for you without water along side. well atleast a 1:1 ratio. Dont get me wrong theyre very very good but they do need the bottle of water to go with them or build ups of salts and other such things found in this, thats why water is good, bcuz it doesnt let it build up and it transports it around the body

keep it simple with a straight axle 73-87 Chevy K20 (3/4 ton 4x4) with a basic 350 motor (dependable and easy to get parts for) sm 465 manual tranny (dependable as hell) np205 transfer case (see tranny). In the rear axle (full floating corp 14 bolt) I'd add a detroit locker. A dana 60 front would be nice to add from a K30 (1 ton 4x4) but the dana 44 will hold up For tires Id stick with something in the 31"-33" range and fill them with foam (check heavy equipment dealers for that detail). add expanded metal over the glass and add skidplates under the engine in front and behind the axle.plus one under the fuel tank(s) if it doenst have the optional one from the factory.

¿Should this be civy weaps (since they use bullets) or melee weaps (since they are hand-held?
Bangsticks The are made up of a powerhead, which is a metal chamber that houses ammunition and has a pin that must be removed to arm it, mounted to a shaft offering protection from sharks or other large marine life while diving, or for gator hunting. The powerhead can be unscrewed from the shaft and mounted to a longer shaft (including a pole spear) if desired. The longer shaft will provide more distance between yourself, your target, and the powerhead! If you want a 12 gauge, you will need to mount it minimally on a 4’ pole due to its power. Once the firing pin has been removed, you can detonate the ammunition by pushing the powerhead linearly into your target (i.e., head on, and not with a sideways motion). You must put some force behind it, and for this reason, the bangstick won’t accidentally go off if dropped. It is the high-pressure gasses from the muzzle blast that kill the target, not the bullet itself; Therefore, you can generally use blanks. Make sure to waterproof the primer and case mouth with nail polish or varnish. Unused ammo is generally discarded after submersion. Calibers: .357 Magnum and .357 magnum Ultralite .44 Magnum .223 caliber 410 gauge 12 gauge
