1 minute to run! (Timed Test)

Let's have a little REAL TIME fun......

Situation: You have 1 minute (of REAL time) to gather whatever you can where you are RIGHT now and make a run for it.

Set your timer for 1 minute.

What do you grab?

GO!

Good luck, Survivor!

The bag, the Sig in the leg holster with a spare mag, the shotgun in its case with 6 shells, and the Bushmaster with my two ready mags. I do admit that I was getting ready to go to bed though, so I was in the room with the bag, Sig, and shotgun. Going to the gun cabinet ate up about half my time.

Key to truck

Family, wife, son, dogs, get dogs headed to truck

Bugout boxes, presupplied and set with "camping gear" tossed in back

Camp bags over shoulder, 2L sippy systems, presupplied with personal needed materials and meds.

SKS rifles in hand, pistol belts with handguns and magazines
(Truck has several thousands rounds of assorted ammo, stored water, food stuffs for human and canine)

Start truck, roll well within <1 min tested.

I like this idea- thanks, Ironhand.

I've got a backpack that was provided at my dorm- it has an emergency food block, glowstick, emergency blanket, gauze, and water. I've added stuff like my swiss army knife and first aid kit.

I'd grab that backpack, extra clothes, the keys to my family's Ford F350, The two guns we have in our house, an axe from my garage, and as much canned food as I could grab.

I need to think on this some more, I bet I could get more useful things, and have them ready for whenever.

I did ok...considering I didn't have a bob bag packed ahead of time and am not...dressed for success.

small camel pack (this is where I went wrong in the first place)

a had full of clothes: long sleeve thermal shirt, 1 pair of underwear, tank top, board shorts 2 pairs of socks...that was just pure luck

aluminum water bottle (which I had to fill)

a bag of cereal from the pantry

sleeping bag

had to find a bigger pack and put the clothes and sleeping bag in it

grabbed my boots and the crowbar i keep behind the toilet

i stumbled out the door in just under a min

I should really work on this whole 1 min test.

It took me one minute and fifty three seconds to:

Pack a bag with basic essentials (Food, matches, phone);
Grab keys and wallet form upstairs;
Fill a flask with water and;
Run out the front door.

I need to try that more often.

Good test, Ironhand!

My framepack, which is partially packed so I don't have to do so when I go camping, which has:

)A bag of firestarting stuff (2 boxes of waterproof matches, a bag of firestarters
)Pocket knife
)Small first aid kit
)Nalgene mess kit
)A bag with toothbrush, toothpaste, and camping soap
)Rope
)Nalgene water bottle
)Folding saw
Throw some spare clothes in it.
Throw some dry foods in it.
*Throw my laptop in.
*Throw my digital camera in.
Grab my dad's 12 guage semi and shells, don't have time to figure out how to put together.
Grab my dad's .22 that has no ammo and put in bag.
Grab key to the Honda CR-V, and drive away.

I will try that all when my sister isn't home...without driving away and walking outside with a loaded shotgun. I don't want to get clusterfucked.

*If I have time.

Lucky me I am moving here in a week or so, so everything is already packed.
Seabag, full of clothes, my old steel tipped combat boots, my KaBar, Surefire batteries, and other stuff.
Car Keys, I have a case of water and a case of MRE's that I.....acquired...before I got out of the Marines.
Glock 33, and 4 boxes of ammo, 150 x .357sig and 1 box of hollow points, 50 x .357
Sure Fire
Cleaning kit for my Glock and AR-15
AR-15 and 1 case of ammo (I already used like 50 of the rounds in it so it only has 950 left), 6 mags (3 loaded, 3 not)
1947 Browning Auto-5 Model 11 12-gauge shotgun. With a bag of ammo(pry like 250-300 rounds in the bag)
and my IFAC (individual fist aid kit)

Most of my gear stays in my car, so just get inside and grab:
12 gauge
22 rifle
waterproof box of ammo
4 cases of mre's
2 cases of water
and last but not least, the wife
my house is tiny (15x30) so only takes 6 seconds from the far side of the house to the car

OK, timing number two for me:

I had the fire alarm testers in my building for the past 2 hrs. One screaming alarm after another.
In one minute I got my pistol (STRAPPED TO MY THIGH), BOB (filled with 7 cans of can goods, multi-tool, lighters, matches, maps, etc...), boots on, Jacket, cell phone (I called my sister who is 200 feet from my current location), keys, cock, money (about $200, it might be worth something in the first few days), Camera, GPS, and one Tan Baseball cap & sunglasses. I did better this time.

The Fire Marshal was curious as to why I had a pistol on my leg. I just told him "Hey, I'm armed security & I got called last minute. False Alarm."
