Jan 8 2010, 8:32 AM EST \| Post edited: Jan 9 2010, 5:13 AM EST When two Apache meet who have never met before as a way of introducing themselves they let the other know who they are and in proper etiquete the second Apache would introduce themselves as well. They didn't intoduce themselves as we do today by quoteing what part of town they're from, where they go to school or what they drove. Things that we find in our society as ways of indentifing ourselves would have meant nothing to them. What was important to them were the deeds you had done and where you had been, in essense who YOU were. I started this thread in the hopes of finding out more about everyone here and I hope it is successful in helping us understand one another better. List who you are in simple terms as you would post-Z. This is who I am: I am disinherited, I am a grower of crops, a hunter of beasts, a lover of one woman, a father to good children, I am the bringer of the burning death, I am a flawed man, I am the trainer of beasts, the shoulder to lean on and the maker of traps.......I am Timber. Who are you? P.S. Anyone who finds it neccessary to make fun of or critisize another's list of "Who they are" also remember that I am the swinger of the banhammer and will be keeping track of this thread. I am a protector of lands, and a helper to all neighbors. I build ammunition, and will trade it for any supplies through my neighbors. If my neighbors have problems with raiders I will be there with my team to dispatch them. I have a strong belief in our community. I will help keep my community together. By my community I do not just mean my team and my house, I mean all neighboring houses within 3-4 miles. We look out for each other, and will help each other out. I build fortifications, plan for possibilities, and help those who cannot help themselves. I ask no one to follow me, yet they do so nonetheless. I prefer to take orders, rather than give them, but will give them if asked, and no others are around who can lead. I am meticulous, and do all I can to ensure my and others survival. I am quick thinking, and can and have beat more skilled enemies through my intelligence. I come from noble blood, and my ancestors were well known. I d not truly trust anyone, yet ironically, they trust me. I am a researcher, who believes knowledge is the most powerful tool... I have mastered “make-do” and make-shift. If I know how to do it, I do it; if I don’t know how, I learn; and if I’m afraid to do it, I do it afraid. I am loyal and honest. I most cherish my God, my man and my kids. My family and my country are the home of my heart. My guns are loaded for the sake of them. My people are helpers and hard workers; every person can and should contribute. I offer my hands, my help, my knowledge. I follow or lead as necessary. I love to be pampered but can go and have gone without. I’m a weenie in the cold. I hate to get hurt, but once I am, I just deal with it…physically or otherwise. My greatest flaw is self-doubt.
